Blessing of the Animals
October 6, 2001

Dogs and cats joined our own church cat, Melchizedek (Mel), in the church's backyard for The Blessing of the Animals on October 6. The service, which is traditionally done near the time of St. Francis' feast on October 4, reminds us of God's love for all creation. It is a time to pray for God's blessing for the pets who are so much a part of our lives.
