Blessing of the Animals
October 9, 2004

King of Peace joined together with the people and pets from around Camden County for The Blessing of the Animals on October 9 at the Humane Society of Camden County.

Pastors Logue and Griffin blessing a dogThe service was held at the Animal Shelter at 950 Grove St. in Kingsland. The Rev. Verdell Griffin of Wheeler Street Church of God and our own pastor, Frank blessed dogs and cats. The service, which is traditionally done near the time of St. Francis' feast on October 4, reminds us of God's love for all creation. It is a time to pray for God's blessing for the pets who are so much a part of our lives. King of Peace also took part in another Blessing of the Animals service the previous week as part of the Rock Shrimp Festival.
