Blessing of the Animals

October 8, 2005

King of Peace Episcopal Church and Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church joined together with the people and pets from around Camden County for The Blessing of the Animals on October 8 at the Humane Society of Camden County.

The service was held at the Animal Shelter at 950 Grove St. in Kingsland. The Rev. Gabriel Cummings and our own pastor, The Rev. Frank Logue, blessed dogs and cats. The service, which is traditionally done near the time of St. Francis' feast on October 4, reminds us of God's love for all creation. It is a time to pray for God's blessing for the pets who are so much a part of our lives. Click any photo below to see a larger version of the picture.
